About us

Iota Finance is a modern, fully remote accounting firm β€” "Not Your Father's Accountant." We help small-business owners and startup founders get clean books, proactive tax planning, and the financial clarity to make better decisions. Our marketing is how most future clients meet us before they ever book a call, and we want it to sound as sharp and human as the work we do.

The role

You'll run the day-to-day of our social and email marketing: drafting and scheduling social, publishing the monthly "Not Your Father's Accountant" newsletter, keeping the content calendar current, and reporting on what's working. This is an internship with real ownership β€” you'll be the person who makes sure the firm shows up consistently, on-brand, on time.

What you'll do

      • Draft, schedule, and publish social posts across our channels on a consistent cadence
      • Produce the monthly "Not Your Father's Accountant" newsletter β€” draft ready by the 15th, into review, sent by the 20th at 8:00 AM ET
      • Own the content calendar across every channel β€” current, visible, and accurate
      • Repurpose long-form content (podcast/video, blog) into clips, captions, and posts
      • Pull monthly performance metrics (opens, clicks, reach, engagement, followers, list size), summarize them, and recommend one improvement
      • Help grow the newsletter list and social following
      • Keep assets, captions, and post history organized in Drive

What you'll need

      • Genuine fluency with social platforms and a feel for what performs on each
      • Sharp, concise writing and an ear for brand voice (ours is direct and human, never stuffy)
      • Comfort with scheduling tools, an email/newsletter platform (HubSpot a plus), and Canva
      • Ruthless attention to detail β€” no typos, correct links, correct sizes
      • Organized and self-managing in a remote, deadline-driven role
      • Enrolled in or recently finished a relevant program (marketing, communications, design) β€” or a portfolio that speaks louder than a degree

What sets you apart

      • You've run a real content calendar and can show what you shipped
      • You can point to a metric you moved and explain how
      • You bring ideas, not just execution β€” you see the content in the raw material

What success looks like in your first 90 days

      • Social goes out on a consistent, on-brand cadence β€” nothing slips
      • The newsletter ships on the 2nd Wednesday, every month, with subject lines that earn opens
      • The content calendar is the single source of truth the whole team trusts
      • You deliver a clean monthly metrics summary with one clear recommendation

How we hire

We use a structured, scorecard-based process β€” a conversation and a short real-world exercise (draft a post and a subject line from a piece of our content). We move fast and we're transparent about where you stand. Apply with a resume and links or samples of content you've actually shipped.
